Uncovering the unconventional Path-My First TKS session

I recently became apart of The Knowledge Society and last Sunday, I attended my very first TKS session (for those who don’t know what it is, it is an innovation program for 13–17 year olds). Not knowing exactly what I was going to do in the next 3 hours, I was so excited.

As soon as I got there I was talking to the most ambitious and compelling students. The ones that have found their “thing”, the students that have developed VR games, learned about gene editing and trying to find non invasive glucose testing and others not exactly sure what they want to learn more about. We had fun solving riddles, easy ones according to Navid Nathoo but struggling a lot because it is something you never learn at school.

Those three hours were unlike any other except when Navid Nathoo, Nadeem Nathoo and Will Lancaster introduced themselves. They taught me that I am the only one setting my limits and I am capable of anything I believe in but it won’t come easy. You need to hustle and work for whatever you are going after and it includes figuring things out by yourself before you go asking for help because there is the internet with tons and tons of information about it. Additionally, we learnt that we will learn things that people are never taught in school such as developing good skill sets, finding your passion and having a “Boss” mentality.

After this session, I became more aware of what I need to do to learn and what I want to do, to participate in this exponential change in our world. I am looking forward to collaborating with all the students and cannot wait to continue on this journey over the next 10 months.
